Three years of brush automatics had left the black paint hazy under direct light. Two-stage correction, then a five-year coating.
Santorini Black shows every defect, and this one came in wearing the fine circular swirl pattern that brush automatics leave behind. You could see it from across the parking lot on a sunny day.
Depth readings came back healthy at 118 to 134 microns, so there was room for a proper two-stage. The cutting stage took the swirls out and the refining stage cleared the haze the compound left behind. We stopped at roughly 95% defect removal, which is the sensible place to stop on a daily driver.
Five-year coating over the top, wheels off so the barrels got done as well. The owner says it rinses clean now without touching it.
