Waterfront parking in Kirkland had left mineral spotting that was well past the point of washing off.
Mineral spotting starts as something you can wipe away. After a summer of heat cycling it bonds, then it etches, and at that point it's a correction job rather than a wash.
This M4 was well past wiping, with the hood and roof the worst of it. A single-stage correction cleared the etching completely. We coated the glass as well, because the windshield was spotted just as badly and bare glass re-spots inside a few weeks.
The owner still parks in the same place. The spots now sit on top of the coating rather than down in the clear coat, and they come off with a hose.
